The 2009 British and Irish Lions Squad has been announced today by Gerald Davies. The Captancy was handed to Paul O’Connell who becomes the 27th man to skipper the British and Irish Lions. Ian McGeechan had also made a decision that there should not be to many leadersin the squad saw it fit to leave out 3 National Team Captains. Mike Blair, Steve Borthwick and Ryan Jones did not make their way into the Squad.
